I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Former twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
